NHL Playoffs - Rd. 1 Mic’d Up
This is why we love hockeyregurgitated NONSENSE
I don’t think the NHL is aware of how many people have to watch their product via illegal streams.
Since they don’t seem to care that tons of fans are dicked by every game being on NBCSN.
Also let’s destroy the mystique of the Winter Classic by having a gajillion outdoor games next year.
Explain to me why Patrick Marleau suddenly is “clutch” because he tapped in a wide open rebound?
All because of WHEN it was scored (game/series clincher)
Anybody scores that goal. He still has a lot of stepping up to do to totally shed his label.
Any Conn Smythe conversation should include this guy right here
DETROIT – The Red Wings are back in the playoffs for the 20th consecutive season, and Wednesday night, everything seemed back to normal in Detroit. The first octopus hit the ice during the national anthem, going splat behind Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. Kid Rock, Eminem and Motown blared from the loudspeakers. Johan Franzen scored. Joe Louis Arena roared. The Wings won, 4-2, and echoed each other afterward.
“This is one game,” Franzen said.
“It’s one game,” center Pavel Datsyuk said.
“Again,” coach Mike Babcock said, “this is just one game.”
Here’s a scene we saw alot tonight.
What can I say about Franzen? 4 goals is unheard of…but 4 straight in the first period?? By the same player?? Natural hat trick+1.
And then to had a 5th?
(Edit: 4th goal was changed,to Bertuzzi, but still, the natural hatty and 4 goals total..wow)
7-1 win. Now if we only didn’t blow the lead in game 3. 3-1 and 2-2 are so far away despite being a 1 game difference. If any team can do this, its the wings. Go Wings! Alright Mule!
(via patriciaerin)
haha, i love how no one has said anything about the brilliant sell on Marleau’s “boarding” penalty… that led to the wings leading goal. What about Heatley’s “interference” you know the one that took away our PP with 2 minutes to go. Putting the wings right back in it. Oh, then the too many men on the ice happened. Did the sharks flop around on the ground to get that call?
I’m sorry, but just as many bad calls went against the Sharks…
That’s bullshit. We took ten penalties. Ten. That’s twenty minutes on the penalty kill. The Sharks’ one bad call to our eight bad calls isn’t comparable. We’re the least penalized team in the NHL, which should tell you something.
I’ve been biting my tongue on this since the game, but when somebody tries to claim it evened out on the Shark’s end, I can no longer be silent.
EVEN if some of the calls for Detroit were questionable… 10 to 4 does not equal “just as many”. It’s not even close. People can talk about us Wings fans being whiners and complainers all they want (look even i’m embarrassed by some of the wings “fans” that post in hockey threads), but you can’t in any way watch that game and say the officiating wasn’t one of the absolutely worst, most one sided affairs you’ve ever seen.
The officiating crew should be ashamed. And Nabokov, I’m not even going to waste my time. Pathetic.
Headed back to hockeytown, and that’s the last I’ll say of this. We’ll see how the Sharks react when its 2-2 and the choke talk starts.
Stanley Cup Playoffs 2010 - Round 2
I LOVE the wallpapers www.letsgowings.com puts out. Always beautiful
Shit’s gettin’ real.
Somebody forgot to tell the (L)Eastern Conference who the favorites were…
Way to just hand it over to the Pens, jerks. The fact that Boston or Philly will be in a conference final is such a joke.
WINGS, GAME 1, on short rest tonight. Time for the Sharks annual choke job (though I’m thinking this goes a tough 6 or 7).
GO WINGS! GO JIMMY!
